October 15-17, 2009

The International Comic Arts Forum (ICAF) is proud to announce its fourteenth annual meeting, to be held at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from Thursday, October 15, through Saturday, October 17.

LODGING: ICAF's partner hotel for 2009 is the Silversmith Hotel and Suites. For information about the Silversmith and how to make a reservation there, please see our "Lodging" page.

ICAF brings together scholars and artists from diverse nationalities and disciplines for collegial discussion of comic art in all its aesthetic, cultural, social, and historical dimensions. The longest-lived refereed conference in comics studies, ICAF is the only annual scholarly event explicitly dedicated to an international perspective on comics, and enjoys an unparalleled reputation for academic rigor.

ICAF is proud to be hosted again by the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, a world-class art school and a hub of Chicago's vital arts community. We invite you to join us at the SAIC this October for what promises to be, once again, a three-day summit for the best and most innovative work in comics scholarship.
