Registration Fees for Academic Presenters

The conference registration fee is only required for scholars who are giving academic paper presentations. Along with supporting the programming for the conference, this fee includes a special lunch, evening reception, and conference swag. This fee is $135 for full-time/tenure-track faculty; $50 for student presenters, contingent faculty and independent scholars. Please visit our Eventbrite page here to pay the registration fee by April 10, 2025.

For general attendees and members of the public, ICAF events are free of charge.

​Flying to San Diego
The San Diego International Airport (SAN) is centrally-located near downtown, 15 minutes away from San Diego State University. The address is: 3225 N Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101

Getting to and from the Airport
Public Transportation to SDSU: Take the Trolley! 
  • Option 1: Take the new “San Diego Flyer” - a free to customers electric shuttle bus service between San Diego International Airport (SAN) and Old Town Transit Center. The electric shuttle buses operate seven days a week, with an average arrival every 20-30 minutes.
  • Option 2: Take the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) Trolley (above ground light rail system) GREEN LINE from Old Town to SDSU. See this overview of how to take the Trolley and plan your trip at sdmts.com.

Ridesharing to SDSU: The designated rideshare pickup/dropoff point closest to the conference is Hardy Ave at Campus Green.

Driving: See the campus website for directions to campus and up-to-date parking fees and locations. Visitor permits may be purchased at specified physical locations or via the campus PayByPhone parking app.

Hotels on the Green Trolley Line (most are .3 - .4 mile walk to a trolley station)
  • Mission Valley Marriott 4 trolley stops to SDSU, Green Line (Rio Vista station; .3 mile 6 minute walk to station).  
  • Springhill Suites Mission Valley 4 trolley stops to SDSU, Green Line (Rio Vista station; .4 mile 9 minute walk to station).  
  • Doubletree Mission Valley 6 trolley stops to SDSU, Green Line (Hazard Center station right in front of hotel)
  • Town & Country 8 trolley stops to SDSU, Green Line (5-8 minute walk through hotel grounds and over a walking bridge to Fashion Valley station)
  • Old Town (Old Town Station; 10 trolley stops to SDSU, Green Line): 
    • Cosmopolitan Hotel (.2 mile 5 minute walk to station) 
    • Hilton Garden Inn (.4 mile 8-10 minute walk to station)   
    • Best Western Plus Hacienda ( .4 mile 8-10 minute walk to station)   

Hotels near SDSU but not on the Trolley Line (would require rideshare, walking or bus)
  • Lamplighter Inn & Suites at SDSU (1.2 miles/28 min walk to campus or you can walk .5 mile and take the bus. The bus takes ~25 minutes.)
  • Days Inn by Wyndham Mission Valley Qualcomm Stadium/ SDSU (3 miles/10 minute drive)
  • Rodeway Inn San Diego Near SDSU (3 miles/10 minute drive)
